About PFV
We Believe Recovery Should Never Happen Alone
Paralyzed From Violence exists to provide hope, peer mentorship, advocacy, hospital support, violence intervention, and resources for individuals whose lives have been changed by violence and spinal cord injury.
We walk beside survivors and their families from the hospital through long-term recovery, helping them rebuild independence, confidence, and purpose.

To empower paralyzed survivors of violence to heal, lead, and live on purpose.
Our Mission
Our Vision

Every survivor has the opportunity not only to recover medically, but also to purse meaningful employment, financial independence, community connection, and self-determination.

Meet Our Founder
Meet Edward (Eddie) Smith
On January 24, 2018, at just 31 years old, Eddie Smith's life changed forever after surviving a gunshot wound during an attempted robbery that left him with a spinal cord injury.
Rather than allowing tragedy to define him, Eddie transformed his pain into purpose.
Today he is a nationally recognized violence prevention advocate, spinal cord injury peer mentor, and community leader who has dedicated his life to helping others navigate life after traumatic injury.
As Founder and CEO of Paralyzed From Violence, Eddie has helped hundreds of survivors gain access to:
