Peer Mentorship

Connecting survivors with individuals who understand life after paralysis firsthand. PFV provides encouragement, guidance, and ongoing support to help survivors navigate recovery, regain confidence, and move forward with purpose.

Hospital Violence Intervention

Providing trauma-informed bedside support to individuals impacted by violence and spinal cord injuries. PFV helps bridge the gap between hospitalization and the community by offering mentorship, resources, and continued support throughout recovery.

Community Resource Navigation

Connecting survivors and families to essential resources, including wheelchairs and adaptive equipment, accessible housing and home modifications, transportation, benefits, rehabilitation services, and other community-based support.

Youth Violence Prevention 

Engaging young people through real-life experiences, mentorship, and education to help prevent violence before it happens. PFV encourages positive decision-making while showing the lifelong impact one moment can have.

Accessiblity Advocacy

Advocating for greater accessibility, inclusion, and independence for individuals living with disabilities. PFV works alongside communities and organizations to identify barriers and promote environments where everyone can participate fully.

Family Support

Supporting families and caregivers as they adjust to life after a traumatic injury. PFV provides guidance, resources, education, and encouragement to help families navigate the challenges of recovery together.

Public Speaking

Sharing powerful lived experiences of survival, resilience, violence prevention, disability advocacy, and turning adversity into purpose. PFV provides speaking engagements for schools, hospitals, community organizations, conferences, and other events.

Community Education 

Educating communities about gun violence, spinal cord injuries, disability awareness, accessibility, and survivor needs. PFV uses education and collaboration to reduce stigma, increase understanding, and help create safer, more inclusive communities.

Wheels To Work

Wheels to Work extends PFV’s support beyond hospital discharge by helping survivors build a pathway toward employment, financial stability, and independence. Through career readiness, financial literacy, benefits counseling, resource navigation, mentorship, and connections to employment opportunities, the program empowers survivors to turn recovery into long-term economic mobility, purpose, and community leadership.
